Pay at the venue

Reserve now, pay at the door.

Not everybody pays online. With pay at the venue your audience holds a seat, and your team only hands over the ticket once the money is on the counter.

  • A reservation without a ticket or QR code
  • A payment deadline you set yourself
  • A settlement per event

How it works

Cash, without a separate set of books

A reservation paid at the counter is where most ticketing systems leave you on your own. Here is what happens instead.

A reservation, not yet a ticket

The visitor holds a seat but gets no QR code. The ticket only exists once your team confirms the payment, so an unpaid reservation cannot walk in on it.

Payment locations

You decide where people can pay: the box office, your café, a presale address. Your visitor sees that address in the confirmation email.

A deadline you choose

Pay within a number of hours of reserving, or before one fixed date for everybody. When the deadline passes, the reservation expires by itself and the seat goes back on sale.

Confirming at the counter

Your team finds the reservation, confirms the payment, and the ticket with its QR code is created and sent at that moment. From there the guest scans like anyone else.

A settlement per event

Afterwards you see what came in as cash for that event, which reservations expired and what is still open. You close it off, so the till and the system tell the same story.

Misuse in plain sight

Reservations that keep expiring, or a lot of manual admissions: it stands out in your overview before it costs you money.

Confirm payment

The QR code is created and sent only once this is confirmed.

The reservation holds the seat, but no ticket exists yet. That is what makes settling in cash safe.

In practice

From reservation to a closed till

01

Turn on pay at the venue

You switch it on per event, pick the payment locations and set the deadline. Nothing changes for the rest of your events.

02

Your visitor reserves

The same shop, the same steps, with paying at the venue as an option. The confirmation email says where and by when the money is due.

03

Confirm the payment

At the counter your team finds the reservation and confirms the payment. The ticket is created, sent and immediately scannable.

04

Settle the event

After the night you go through the cash orders and close the event off. What expired is listed alongside, so the numbers add up.

Example

A theatre run with box-office sales

A night where online and cash run side by side.

Platform fees are only charged once a ticket is actually paid for — an expired reservation costs nothing.

Questions we get

Does a reservation already come with a QR code?
No, deliberately not: as long as nothing has been paid, the ticket does not exist. The QR code is created and sent the moment your team confirms the payment.
What if somebody never turns up?
Once the deadline passes the reservation expires automatically and the seat returns to the sale. You do not have to chase it.
Can I combine online payment and paying at the venue?
Yes. Per event you decide whether paying at the venue is an option. Your visitors choose, and both streams end up in the same orders and the same reporting.
