Measure ticket shop visits with GA4 and Google Tag Manager

Understand your visitors.Measure with a plan.

Choose GA4 or Google Tag Manager for the public shop. Start with consented page visits and compare them with your sales overview. Adding a tag is not a complete purchase-tracking integration.

No analytics tag loaded

Declining prevents the configured tool from loading.

  • Public pages, after consent
  • No tracking on checkout or ticket links
  • No automatic purchase events

The planner sends no measurement events itself. A local demonstration, not a live configuration.

01

Choose one way to load tags

Open Google & statistics under Sales channels in your organisation. For direct GA4, enter the measurement ID beginning G-. For your own container, choose GTM and enter its GTM-ID. Do not also load the same GA4 tag through another route: duplicate configuration can count visits twice. Saving in TixBeam does not publish changes to your Google container.

Use a measurement or container ID, not a complete script block. Manage tags in the appropriate Google environment.

02

Respect the cookie choice

The shop loads the configured analytics tool only after the visitor agrees. Declining prevents it from loading; visitors can change their choice later. With GTM, the organiser remains responsible for container contents and consent settings. Do not add tags that read personal order information or measure outside the intended public pages.

Test both consent and refusal in a new browser profile before relying on the measurement.

03

Understand the measurement boundary

The current integration supports the public shop and event pages. Checkout, personal ticket links and order pages are excluded. Direct GA4 sends a page_view after consent; there is no automatic purchase or refund integration. Use TixBeam’s overview for ticket sales and proceeds. An Analytics visit is therefore not equivalent to an order.

The interactive planner shows existing coverage, not a promised complete conversion funnel.

04

Verify the shop separately with Google

Set a google-site-verification code for Search Console. This confirms ownership and is separate from GA4 or GTM. Also start verification in Search Console and choose the property matching your shop address. A verified website is not automatically indexed, and verification does not send sales data to Analytics.

Check measurement in Google and orders in TixBeam; use each source for the question it can answer.
